PhD candidates in other disciplines may select a minor in Women's Studies. The Women's Studies minor is 12 units of approved Women's Studies courses, including two courses from the following list: WS 539A (Feminist Theories I), WS 539B (Feminist Theories II), WS 639 (Feminist and Related Social Movements), and WS 684 (Feminist Knowledge Production). The remaining two courses would come from any 500-level (or above) course offered by core Women's Studies faculty or officially cross-listed with WS. It is expected that one or more core Women's Studies faculty members would serve on the student's comprehensive examination committee and dissertation committee. The minor will be granted upon completion of coursework with a B or better for the required units. A Minor Program of Study Form must be completed and a signed copy filed with the Women's Studies Graduate Committee. No more than two transfer courses will be accepted, and cannot replace the Women's Studies core courses.
