MA Program - Mentoring/Advising

Each student will be offered a choice of three possible faculty mentor/advisors for the first semester based on the student's areas of interest to assure adequate support and opportunity for choice during the first semester. Students must choose a mentor/advisor no later than October 15 with the understanding that there is an element of firt-come, first-served due to faculty workloads (i.e.: id one faculty member receives too many requests, she is free to say no). The faculty mentor/advisor is there to guide students in finding faculty to work with, on course selection, to report on students' satisfactory progress. Students are encouraged to research all faculty on campus whose work may be related to their interests and to develop as many mentoring relationships as they feel appropriate to their own career development.
