Susan Hardy Aiken
Ph.D., Professor, Department of English

Dr. Aiken is a University Distinguished Professor of English. She has published widely on feminist theory, nineteenth and twentieth century literature, and the Danish author Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen). She is a co-editor of Changing Our Minds: Feminist Transformations of Knowledge (State University of New York Press, 1988), the author of Isak Dinesen and the Engendering of Narrative (University of Chicago Press, 1990), co-author of Dialogues/Dialogi: Literary and Cultural Exchanges Between (Ex) Soviet and American Women (Duke University Press, 1994), and the co-editor of Making Worlds: Gender, Metaphor, Materiality (University of Arizona Press, 1998). She is currently at work on a book based on the archives of an antebellum Southern planter and slaveholder.
