Laura GronewoldLaura Gronewold is a PhD student in Literature at the University of Arizona. She worked in publishing for five years, including two years at Seattle's pioneering Seal Press. She wrote her master's thesis at the University of Montana on the trope of the "evil woman" in three Margaret Atwood novels (Lady Oracle, Cat's Eye, and The Robber Bride), and examined the way that power dynamics are gendered between women. Her interests include contemporary constructions of gender and sexuality, feminist and gender theories, 20th century literature and film, women writers, and the politics underlying the contemporary genre of "Chick Lit." Last year she served as the College of Humanities Rep for the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC), and this year she is Co-chair of the English Graduate Union (EGU).
