Emily Schmit

I am a student in the joint JD/MA-Women's Studies program. This program has provided me with a unique opportunity to combine my interests in women?s issues, civil rights and sports. My thesis will examine the engagement of the judicial system and female athletes using Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 as a historical guide. I also coach the U of A women's club water polo team and in my spare time try and find time to play polo with the local master's team and run the trails in foothills. It is my hope that I will be able to be an advocate for athletes both as a coach and as an attorney. I am a new mom of rescue feral kitten named Rigby.
